BAA Youth Games

On Thursday the 13th we went to Meadowbank for a competition. We entered four sports; athletics, golf, tennis and hockey. The p5 played in the golf competition and p6 and p7 did the rest. In hockey the players did very well - "their team work was good" said the teacher. In tennis Jodie, Stephen, Heather and Fraser were fantastic and came second. The golf team scored over 500 points. In athletics the runners did very well ! They came first in lots of heats and over all we came fourth and scored 160 points.
We had a fantastic time and enjoyed the day and we all got medals !!!

p.s The p7s want to do it again - but we can't !

Easter Holidays!

After a very hectic term the Easter holidays are here at last! I'm sure you're all looking forward to long lies and chilling out!
We had a good time in the last week on our visit to The Risk Factory - despite the freezing rain and the long wait for a bus!!
Next term we have lots of exciting events lined up - visits to the Scottish Parliament, Choices for Life and the BAA Youth Games. Also we have several transition visits to Firrhill High School to get ready for next year.
At the end of term we, sadly, had to say goodbye to two pupils, Blair and Jess - the class will not be the same without them - maybe a bit quieter!!!! - and we will miss them both lots. Good luck girls in your new schools in Canada and Germany - let us know how you get on!
Next term we will welcome a new member to our class - someone some of you may remember from a few years ago!!!
Anyway I hope you all have a great holiday and look forward to seeing you all on Tuesday 20th April.

Happy holidays

Well done Hollie
Edinburgh University Trip.

On Wednesday 17 March 2010 p7 went to Edinburgh University. The visit was arranged by Dr Neil Spiers who had visited us in school. We went to a lecture theatre to talk about what we were going to do and have lunch. The trip was split into workshops; there was Chinese and Law. The first workshop was Chinese. We learnt how to say our names, nice to meet you and good bye. Then a lady came in to teach us about the law. In the law workshop we got split in to groups and we spoke about what we thought law was about. Then we had to make three new laws - 2 of these were - No racism and Children should be able to drive at 12 years old. Then we did a quiz about what age you have be to do things. The trip was a lot of fun and it was great to see what being at university would be like. We travelled by coach and we were a bit late back to school!
